URUGUAY have appointed Diego Forlan as Marcelo Bielsa’s replacement.
Bielsa left his role as first-team boss of the national team following their chaotic World Cup campaign.

Forlan – who scored 36 goals in 112 caps for his country – spent two-and-a-half years at OId Trafford, scoring 17 goals in 98 appearances and winning the Premier League and FA Cup.
He then had stints with Villarreal, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan before spells in Japan, Uruguay, India and Hong Kong.

However, he is now back in the dugout and set to oversee Uruguay’s autumn friendlies.
