The Dagestani destroyer became the new ruler of the 170lbs division last November with a in Madison Square Garden.
The fan favourite could face a much sterner test in the taller and rangier Garry,
, who punched his ticket to title contention days after Makhachev became champ with a dominant display against former titleholder Belal Muhammad, has vowed to become Ireland’s second UFC titleholder in emphatic fashion.
Makhachev has become accustomed to his rivals’ bold predictions about becoming only the second man to beat him.
And he plans to teach ‘The Future’ a lesson in humility in their Philly punch-up.
During the UFC 330 countdown, the Russian said of Garry: “He acts like a bad guy.
“You know, doing too many interviews trying to talk bad.
“But I know this: he’s a humble guy. But if not, I will make him humble.”

Proposed humbling aside, Makhachev knows Garry will bring him some serious problems in their Brotherly Love bust-up.
He said: “I respect his skills and his background.
“I’m gonna try to follow him and catch him and take him down, everyone knows my game plan and it’s gonna work again.
“The crowd is gonna be on my side because no one likes [him].
“Guys, we will make him humble, we will make him respectful.”
