Bayern Munich legends, Lothar Matthaus and Markus Babbel have hit out at Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior for his antics on the pitch ahead of both sides’ UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg clash on Tuesday night at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Vinicius has often faced criticism for his antics on the pitch, including his dancing.
Speaking on Sky90 – The Football Debate, Matthaus said the Brazilian international is constantly provoking, while Babbel said he likes rolling on the pitch fourteen times when he is fouled.
Matthaus said (via Mundo Deportivo), “This has been going on for years. Vinicius is, of course, a great player, but he is constantly provoking.
“When you finally make a proper tackle on him on the field, he just complains and whines.”
On his part, Babbel said, “When I see how he plays football, the talent he has, and then when I see him fall and roll around 14 times with every move, I just don’t like it.”
