UCL: Arteta almost ‘killed’ me with his tactics – PSG manager, Enrique

Published on May 08, 2025 at 05:07 PM

Paris Saint-Germain manager, Luis Enrique has said his Arsenal counterpart Mikel Arteta almost ‘killed’ him with his tactics during both teams’ UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg tie on Wednesday night.

Erinque watched as PSG defeated Arsenal 2-1 in Paris and booked their place in the Champions League final on a 3-1 aggregate win.

Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi scored the goals for the French Ligue 1 champions against the Premier League North London club at home.

Erinque’s side will now tackle Inter Milan in the Champions League on May 31.

Recall that Inter had defeated Barcelona 4-3 in the other semi-final second leg tie.

Speaking after PSG defeated Arsenal, Erinque said at his post-match interview: “I think it is the game in which we suffered the most.

“Mikel Arteta almost killed me [with his tactics against PSG]. They managed to stretch every ball.

“The team shows they have a lot of talent. We managed the first half on the counter-attack.”;
