Governor Uba Sani has praised Dr. Tajudeen Abbas as one of the finest House Speakers in the history of the National Assembly due to his skill in navigating the complexities of the lower Legislative Chamber.

The Governor, who served as the Special Guest of Honour at the Renewed Hope Empowerment Programme sponsored by the Speaker in Zaria on Sunday, stated that this is not merely his perspective but also the sentiment expressed by President Bola Tinubu.

Governor Sani expressed gratitude to the president for backing the Speaker to ensure that his tenure as the presiding officer of the House of Representatives proceeds smoothly.

“As a former senator, I understand how challenging it is to preside over the House of Representatives. With 360 members, regardless of your competence, patience, and diligence, there will come a time when you feel cornered,” he revealed.

“However, as of today, no Speaker in Nigeria's history has fostered development like Tajudeen Abbas has.”

“I am not the only one praising him for the unity he has instilled in the House of Representatives; it was President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who acknowledged this. I am simply reiterating his words,” he added.

The Governor expressed pride in the House Speaker for his commitment to supporting youth and women empowerment not only in his Zaria Constituency but throughout Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole.

He noted that some politicians questioned his decision to actively support Hon. Abbas's election as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

“I told them that my support is not politically motivated. I will back anyone who can drive development in Kaduna State. Now, I have been vindicated by the projects he has implemented and the empowerment initiatives he has launched.”

“I have informed all the legislators present that we can only maintain good relations if they bring development to their constituents. Anyone who fails to attract a school, hospital, or any project to their area will find themselves at odds with me,” he cautioned.

Governor Sani also shared that House Speaker Abbas has assisted all legislators from Kaduna State in facilitating the establishment of projects within their constituencies.

The Governor noted that the Speaker himself is initiating projects across all 23 local governments in Kaduna State, appealing for the residents of Sabon Gari local government to also receive a stadium similar to the one in Zaria local government.

During the event held at Kofar Doka Zaria, SUVs were distributed to traditional leaders, while farmers received tractors, combine harvesters, fertilizer applicators, and knapsack sprayers.

Additionally, farmers were provided with solar-powered and petrol water pumping machines for irrigation purposes.

Women received deep freezers, grinding machines, and industrial sewing machines to assist tailors, along with haulage tricycles.
