POLICE have arrested two people on suspicion of murder after a man was killed in a horror collision.
Emergency crews responded to reports of a crash involving a Volkswagen Touareg and a pedestrian in Barnsley, at around 4.55pm on Friday.
The horror crash took place on Rose Tree Avenue, Barnsley, on Good Friday
The victim, a 45-year-old man, tragically died at the scene.
A 60-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman have both been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.
The incident took place on Rose Tree Avenue, where a cordon remains in place as South Yorkshire Police continue their investigations.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Cartwright said the probe is in its early stages.
He added: “Our thoughts first and foremost are with the victim’s family, friends and loved ones.
“Detectives are working hard to piece together the circumstances of what happened and we would urge anyone with information to please get in touch with us.
“Officers will remain in Rose Tree Avenue carrying out further enquiries. If you have any concerns, queries or information you wish to share then please speak to our officers while they are in the area.”
