Galatasaray’s vice-president, Abdullah Kavukcu has attributed the club’s increasing global appeal to Victor Osimhen, along with two other forwards, Leroy Sane and Mauro Icardi.

Currently recognized as Nigeria’s most prominent footballer, Osimhen has attracted considerable interest from Nigerian fans towards Galatasaray, who are actively following the club’s updates on its social media channels.

After a successful loan period last season, during which he contributed to the Lion’s domestic double victory, Osimhen made a permanent transfer to Galatasaray last summer, marking the highest transfer fee in the history of the Turkish Super Lig.

In discussing the club’s commercial expansion, Kavukcu emphasized Osimhen’s influence on merchandise sales and global visibility, pointing out that the striker is one of the club’s most significant assets in terms of brand recognition.

“Leroy is among Galatasaray’s top three jersey sellers (alongside Osimhen and Icardi; ed.),” Kavukcu stated in an interview with the German newspaper Bild.

He said plans are in progress to make Galatasaray’s merchandising division public, and the club is also considering the establishment of its own café franchise chain as part of a comprehensive branding initiative.

“Our ambition is to rank among the top 10 clubs globally. We are preparing to take our merchandising company public, and we also have intentions for our own café franchise chain,” he added.

“All of this is primarily due to players like Leroy, Mauro Icardi, and Victor Osimhen, who have greatly enhanced our popularity,” Kavukcu remarked.

Osimhen has recorded 19 goals and seven assists in twenty-nine matches across all competitions this season.
