A MUM has revealed how she ended up pregnant with twins after flying to Turkey for IVF treatment.
She explained how the treatment cost half the price of what it would if she had done it in the UK – and she gotten the added benefit of jetting off somewhere sunny.

Taking to TikTok, the mum who posts online under the username @ misschar_sh , explained why she choose to leave the UK for the treatment.
The full IVF package came to £2,999, she explained in the viral video.
This included everything from accommodation in the centre’s IVF guest house, blood tests, semen analysis, all medication needed for treatment, egg retrieval, embryo freezing and more.
“For this type of treatment in the UK you are looking at around £5,000 to £6,000, and I can almost guarantee it wouldn’t include half the stuff on that list,” the mum explained.
However, there were some additional costs, like changing flight times and extra luggage, since the mum was travelling with her partner and their toddler.
But once they arrived the the IVF centre they ended up saving even more cash because of how central it was to the other places they wanted to visit.
Their room was covered in the package too, which featured a double bed, plus a single bed for their toddler and a communal kitchen, which can be used if you prefer cooking rather than eating out.
Bringing her daughter for the journey was a no brainer for the mum too, since there was plenty of parks, museums and fun shops for her to enjoy.
As well as the cost of switching flight times, the mum explained she also had to pay extra for certain medications.
Her pre-transfer medication ended up costing £120, and her post-transfer medication came to £320, but the mum said it was worth it considering the amount of medication she was given.
“What I would describe as the most amazing quality treatment, especially when comparing it to my first round in the UK.
“Plus, it felt a lot less stressful as we had two little holidays to , and of course I’m now growing our baby boys.”
After sharing her journey online others couldn’t believe the cheap price.
One commented:” We were quoted £20,00 in for the whole process not including medication or testing!”
A second wrote: “Thank you so much for sharing this. I’m currently going through secondary infertility and considering IVF, just so expensive in the UK.”
“This is exactly why I’ve started looking abroad! It’s so much cheaper,” a third chimed in.
And someone else said: “This is awesome! Thank you for sharing.
“We’re currently going to Turkey for our journey, so hopeful.”
What is IVF?
VF (in vitro fertilisation) is a fertility treatment to help you get pregnant. Eggs are fertilised with sperm in a laboratory and the embryo is placed in your womb (uterus).
Your chance of having a baby using IVF can depend on many factors such as:
- what’s causing your fertility problems
- your age
- your body mass index (BMI)
- lifestyle factors, such as smoking or drinking alcohol
A GP or the fertility clinic team can discuss this with you before starting IVF.
