WHILE many Londoners face strike disruption today, some lucky commuters will escape the chaos as some lines will not be impacted.

The London strikes will take place on 12 separate days spanning April, May and June.

There will be no service on the and Circle lines during today’s action.

The Metropolitan line will not run between Baker Street and Aldgate, while the Central line is suspended between White City and Liverpool Street.

Although reduced services will operate elsewhere, disruption is expected across the entire Tube network.

However, the and are not expected to be directly affected — though they are likely to be far busier as travellers seek alternative routes.

Other services, including trams and the Docklands Light Railway, will continue to run but are also expected to be crowded.

(TfL) says most other lines will be affected, with trains finishing earlier than usual.

When the Tube is shut or limited, buses and services typically provide alternative ways to get around the capital.

E-bike hire schemes have also proved popular during previous strikes.

The UKHospitality chair, Kate Nicholls, has called the Tube strikes “devastating” – especially for London’s hospitality businesses.

“Commuter footfall is almost non-existent and families cancel plans to visit the capital,” she said.

“The cost of strikes can stretch into the millions – as we saw when strikes hit the sector a couple of years ago.”
