Nigerian troops of Operation HADIN KAI have successfully repelled a terrorist attack in Wulgo, Borno State, killing at least seven fighters, including two senior ISWAP commanders.

According to Zagazola Makama, several other terrorists sustained severe injuries during the fierce gun battle.

The slain commanders were identified as Abu Nazir, the Munzir of Juye, and Abu Fatima, the Munzir of Koloram.

Troops also recovered four motorcycles from the attackers, though an armoured vehicle (MRAP) was set ablaze by the retreating insurgents.

“The terrorists came heavily armed but were decisively engaged. We inflicted heavy casualties on them, including two of their senior commanders,” a military source confirmed.
