This is not an uncommon situation for the couple, who are frequently mistaken for twin sisters, despite recently welcoming their first child together.
Whitney and Megan have been in a relationship for 17 years, and with their matching blonde hair and similar styles, they are often perceived as closely related.
After three unsuccessful rounds of intrauterine insemination (IUI) and two rounds of IVF, which cost them £40,000, they were finally able to grow their family by welcoming baby Olivia.
Born in May and carried by 38-year-old Megan, Olivia has brought joy to the trio as they settle into their new family life.
“It’s been absolutely wonderful being her mummies – well, mummy and mommy,” says 37-year-old Whitney.
“She is truly amazing.
“We’ve never experienced a love like this, and it’s something you can’t fully understand until you feel it yourself.
“She has deepened our love for each other, and our love for her continues to grow every day.
“It feels like we’ve created a new heart just for her.”
The wives made headlines last year when they shared some of the unusual comments they have received since they got together nearly two decades ago.
Whitney, originally from Kentucky, now resides with Megan in Windsor, Berkshire. She shares, “We are often mistaken for sisters, twins, and the most baffling of all – mother and daughter.
“People think Megan is my mother.
“We hear this frequently, both in person and online.
“We believe people are naturally curious, sensing a strong connection between us and wanting to understand it.
“They often ask questions that assume we are anything but a married couple.
“We kindly correct them, letting them know that we are married and have been together for 17 years.
“By correcting them, we hope to educate them about lesbian couples and encourage them not to make assumptions.”

“It’s quite awkward when we tell them we’re married, and their response is, ‘but you look identical’ – we really don’t!”
The couple initially connected on MySpace as teenagers in 2006 and met in person two years later while Whitney was studying abroad in London.
They maintained a long-distance relationship for four years until Whitney moved to the UK in 2012, where they had a civil partnership.
In 2017, they “upgraded” to marriage in a ceremony held in California, US.
