Former Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur defender, William Gallas, has suggested why Eberechi Eze chose the Gunners over Spurs.
The Crystal Palace attacking midfielder has decided to snub Tottenham in favour of their north London rivals, Arsenal.
The England international had reportedly agreed personal terms with Tottenham before making his decision to join Arsenal.
Arsenal agreed a £67.5m deal with Crystal Palace on Wednesday night for Eze’s signature, and the player is expected to undergo his medical with the Premier League North London club in the coming hours.
Speaking with Gambling Zone, Gallas suggested that Eze snubbed Tottenham for Mikel Arteta’s side because he wants to get his hands on more trophies.
Gallas said: “If you are Eze, you don’t want to go from Crystal Palace, where you were the main guy, to move to one of the biggest clubs if you are not going to play much.
“You don’t want to join a club and become frustrated with your minutes.
“Eze will try to find the best solution for himself. Even if Spurs won the Europa League last year, you probably have more chances to win things at Arsenal over the next few years.”
