Former Nigeria international and Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has suggested that Victor Osimhen may be on his way to Real Madrid next summer.

He indicated that the LaLiga giants are closely observing the striker, with a prospective transfer planned for the summer.

The Nigerian forward could take the place of winger Vinicius Jnr, who is likely to leave the club.

Osimhen is currently playing for Galatasaray, having made a permanent move to the Turkish champions last summer.

Despite facing injury challenges, the Super Eagles striker has scored six goals in the Champions League this season.

In the meantime, Vinicius has yet to finalize a new contract with Real Madrid, as his current agreement runs until the summer of 2027.

Oliseh mentioned on the Insight Podcast that Kylian Mbappe could easily revert to his position on the left side of the attack if Vinicius departs, thus allowing Osimhen to assume the center-forward role.

He believes the club now has the flexibility to part ways with Vinicius without significant repercussions.

“There’s considerable discussion about the possibility of Osimhen being a candidate. I won’t disclose my sources, but there’s a lot of chatter,” he remarked.

“Let’s see how this unfolds. When I heard it from a reputable individual, I felt pleased for the young man,” he added.

Osimhen permanently transitioned from Napoli to Galatasaray in the summer of 2025. The Turkish club managed to meet the player’s salary demands as he chose not to move to the Saudi Pro League, despite receiving substantial offers.

No player of Nigerian descent has ever played for Real Madrid’s first team. Oladimeji Lawal and Mutiu Adepoju only featured for the Spanish giant’s B team.
