Sporting Lisbon star, Viktor Gyökeres, has said the spent many years in the English Premier League without playing a singlegame.

Gyökeres was at Brighton and Hove Abion between 2018 and 2021 without playing a single game for Premier League side.

At this moment, the striker has closed the doors to any other solution and would only join Arsenal as club to club talks continue behind the scenes.

The move stalled at some point due to a disagreement over the player’s valuation during ongoing negotiations.

Arsenal have prioritised the Swedish striker over Benjamin Šeško in their continued search for a centre-forward this summer.

Gyökeres is understood to have agreed a five-year deal with the North London club and has been awaiting a resolution between the two clubs over the transfer fee.

Speaking with L’Équipé, the striker said, “I only think about scoring and winning. It changes everything.

“Premier League? I spent several years there without being able to play a single match. So, of course, it’s something I’d like to do.

“It would be great revenge!.”;
