Slovenian club NK Celje have confirmed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Papa Daniel, DAILY POST reports.

NK Celje secured the services of Daniel from Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL side Niger Tornadoes.

The 23-year-old penned a three-year contract with his new club.

This marks the second time Daniel will be playing abroad, having previously had a stint with Turkish club Adanaspor.

The talented midfielder had earlier been in talks with Czech side MFK Karviná, but the deal failed to materialise.

Daniel was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the Unity Cup Invitational Tournament in London in May.

He was also a key member of the home-based Super Eagles team that qualified for the 2024 African Nations Championship.
