Newcastle United have completed the loan signing of Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

The agreement between both clubs is a season-long loan with an option to buy next summer.

Newcastle turned to Ramsdale after missing out on James Trafford, who completed a transfer move to Manchester City last week.

Meanwhile, in another development, Manchester United have reportedly made moves for Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez.

According to Sport in Spain, Man United are said to be prepared to offer up to €70m for the midfielder.

The report added that Lopez is believed to be aware of the Red Devils’ interest.

Lopez is viewed as a player who could fit well into Man United’s system under manager Ruben Amorim.
