Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen remains the most expensive Nigerian footballer in history after sealing a permanent move to Galatasaray this summer.
Osimhen spent last season on loan with the Istanbul club.
Despite huge offers from Saudi Arabia and several European clubs, the 26-year-old opted for a return to the Süper Lig.
Galatasaray will now pay his full â¬75 million release clause within a year.
Incidentally, this is not the highest transfer fee paid for Osimhen.
Osimhen cost Napoli â¬78.9 million when he joined from Lille ahead of the 2020/2021 campaign.
Fulham playmaker Alex Iwobi is the second most expensive Nigerian footballer, with the â¬30.4 million Everton paid Arsenal in the 2019/2020 season.
Kelechi Iheanacho cost Leicester City â¬27.7 million, Fulham paid Everton â¬25.7 million for Iwobi, and Ighalo was bought for â¬23.3 million from Watford in the 2016/2017 season.
