FLORIAN WIRTZ has jetted into the UK to hold transfer talks with Manchester City.

The 22-year-old was one of Bayer Leverkusen’s star performers last season, which saw them make an ill-fated bid to retain the Bundesliga title.

His displays caught the eye of City boss Pep Guardiola, who is said to have eyed up the Germany international as a replacement for the departing Kevin de Bruyne.

And Writz is said to have been in England today to discuss a potential move to the Etihad.

That’s according to, Bild, who claims City have made a “formal offer”;; to Leverkusen for the midfielder’s services.
