Rangers forward Cyriel Dessers is on the verge of sealing a move to Greek giants AEK Athens.

Dessers has been offered a £30,000-a-week deal by the 13-time Greek Super League champions, according to Record Sport.

AEK moved to sign the striker in January but were unable to meet Rangers’ valuation.

The Yellow and Reds have now been boosted by the cash of their new owner, Marios Iliopoulos, who is a shipping magnate.

Marko Nikolic’s side are ready to sign the Nigeria international for £5m.

Dessers cost Rangers £4.5m when he joined from Italian club Cremonese two years ago.

The 30-year-old was top scorer in the Scottish Premiership last season with 18 goals.

He scored a further 11 goals across European and domestic cup competitions.
