Transfer: Boniface opens up on collapse of move to Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr

Super Eagles forward, Victor Boniface, has spoken out about the collapse of a move from Bayer Leverkusen to Al Nassr.

Boniface had already agreed personal terms with the Saudi Pro League club, which would have seen him line up alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 23-year-old was also set to earn around €45 million over the course of a proposed three-year contract.

Despite the Nigeria international passing a medical and Leverkusen reaching a club-to-club agreement with Al Nassr, the Saudi side ultimately opted to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa instead.

“I was ready to go. I packed my bags. I live in Cologne, we drove to Frankfurt,”; Boniface said, while speaking on The Culture League podcast.

“The money is a lot, to be honest. Most of my designer clothes and shoes, I had already given them out to my friends at home.

“The flight was waiting. I was in my hotel room praying for the deal to happen but it didn’t work out last minute.”;
