Transfer market expert, Matteo Moretto, has said that Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman, cannot join Arsenal this summer.
According to him, Arsenal have a standard, especially when it comes to the age of a player, which Lookman does not meet.
He said that the two clubs keen on signing the Nigeria International at the moment are Juventus and Napoli.
There is every indication that the Super Eagles forward would leave Atalanta this summer.
Lookman was the hero for the club last season when he helped them won the UEFA Europa League trophy, beating Bayer Leverkusen in the final.
The Nigerian netted a hatchback in the 3-0 win over the German side.
Moretto told Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, via Area Napoli, that the Nigeria International will leave the Serie A side.
And the former Everton man has been linked with a move to Arsenal but the Moretto believes such a deal would only end as a rumour.
“Lookman is a name that we will definitely talk about in view of the next transfer market because Lookman will leave Atalanta 99.9%.
“In the last few hours the rumor has come out that Lookman could end up at Arsenal.
“I tell you that to date I don’t know if he is due to his characteristics but above all due to his age, because Arsenal in any case have a certain type of standard also in terms of the age of the players to buy,”;; he said.
He said that he did not think the Nigerian forward is on the wish-list of Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta.
According to him, the player had been offered to many clubs in Europe including Arsenal and Atletico Madrid but added that the “teams most interested are two Italian ones: Juventus...and Napoli.”;;
Lookman has been the main man for the Italian Serie A side under manager Gian Piero Gasperini and helped them to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.
