TWO tourists pulled an explosive-laden drone out of the sea before a bomb squad took charge and blew up the device.

The hapless holidaymakers dragged the weapon of war onto a peaceful beach resort in Romania – and dumped it close to some sunbeds.

Stunned onlookers could not believe their eyes when they witnessed the women brazenly handling the deadly drone.

The explosive had previously been spotted in the sea at 6.15am on Wednesday – and the concerned witness had immediately called 112.

A major alert was launched and beachgoers at Olimp resort were warned to stay away from the suspicious bobbing object.

Nonetheless, two women ignored the instructions and waded out to sea.

The explosive drone had been floating just 7ft from the sunbeds and 325ft from nearby hotels.

The pair grabbed the object “by the wings” and carried it ashore.

The beachgoer who had called emergency services watched on in disbelief, saying: “Two ladies came and simply took the drone… It seems to me an extraordinary risk.”

Bomb disposal experts eventually arrived, evacuated the beach and buried the charge in the sand to blow it up safely.

Dramatic footage shows the bomb detonating in a huge explosion of black smoke, showering nearby sun-loungers with debris.

Following the hair-raising discovery, authorities have urged people not to touch suspicious objects.

“If you discover a floating object or debris that appears to come from a drone or small aircraft, on the beach, at sea, in the field or in any other place, please do not touch them or move them, as they could contain explosives”, they told news outlet .

“Move away to a safe distance and immediately notify the authorities by calling the single emergency number 112.”

Shards of the exploded drone have been taken in for examination.
