And it will eclipse the £85m they have already agreed to pay West Ham for ’s new midfield partner .
Newcastle will receive an initial £92.5m for the 26-year-old. They will also get an additional £7.5m in proposed add-ons dependent on multiple Champions League qualifications.
And talks between Spurs and Newcastle will continue with the Mags wanting Archie Gray, 20, to bolster their defence.
Tonali emerged as a shock target last month after Roberto De Zerbi identified his compatriot as the man to build his Spurs revolution around.
The Mags rejected an opening £75m offer but have now given the green light for him to pen a contract which will earn him around £275,000-a-week.
He will join fellow new signings Fernandes, Andy Robertson, Marco Senesi, £52m Jan Paul van Hecke and goalkeeper Martin Dubravka at Tottenham.
He helped them to lift the Carabao Cup – ending a 55-year wait for major silverware – after returning for the 2024/25 campaign.
But he, like the rest of Eddie Howe’s squad, endured a disappointing season last term. Tonali appeared 53 times, scoring three, as the Mags slumped to a 12th place Premier League finish.
But the Toon Army were beginning to get fed-up over his agent’s constant flirting with a move away.
Tonali is the second big-money exit out of Newcastle this summer following Anthony Gordon’s £69m move to Barcelona.
Skipper Bruno Guimaraes has also been linked with a switch to Arsenal, though the Mags are adamant they will not sell the Brazilian.
French U21 goalie Ewen Jaouen is the only arrival at Newcastle after joining for £18.5m from Reims.
