TONI KROOS has turned his back on BOTH England and Germany when it comes to World Cup aspirations.

The former star doesn't believe either nation will go the distance next summer and has identified THREE prominent teams he favors – along with a “surprise” contender.

He joined football legend Romario on his YouTube channel “Romario TV” to share his predictions for the tournament taking place in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Despite his opinions, he also downplayed Brazil’s chances and extended an apology.

Kroos – in quotes shared by the German publication Bild – stated: “Germany and Brazil are not among the top five.

“I apologize to Romario for not mentioning Brazil, but if they win, it will have been worth it.”

So, who does he believe has the best chance? He added: “Spain, Portugal, and France.

“Morocco could be a surprise, as they have made significant technical improvements in recent years.”

Although Kroos may not favor England, bookmakers do, listing them as one of the major contenders for the finals as they aim to end a lengthy 60-year wait for the trophy.

France, Brazil, and reigning champions Argentina follow England at 8-1, with Harry Kane and his team at 11/2.

England has been placed in Group L alongside Croatia, Panama, and Ghana.

Tuchel and his coaching staff have just FOUR matches before the finals, starting with Uruguay at Wembley on Friday, March 27, followed by Japan at the same venue three days later.

They will then play two additional matches in June before the finals commence.

This means that players who have been in and out of the national team or are on the fringes must perform impressively at the club level to secure a spot in one of the last remaining international meet-ups before the finals.
