Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has hailed two debutants, Emmanuel Fernandez and Chibuike Nwaiwu, after their first game for Nigeria.
The two defenders came off the bench in the second half of Nigeriaâs 2-1 friendly victory over Iran in March, held in Antalya, Turkey.
Goals from Akor Adams and Moses Simon sealed the win for Eric Chelleâs side.
Reflecting on the match during an appearance on the Alexander Yaa Digg podcast, Iwobi said, âNice to get the win. Credit to Iranâtheyâre a good, solid team.
âCredit to us, we got the two goals we needed. Shout out to the two centre-backs who played the second half on their debuts.
âThey did wellâthey did solid. It was a good performance. We won, and that gives us a confidence boost.â
