TESCOM inducts principals, urges dedication to effective school administration

The 215 newly inducted principal designates of secondary schools in Ogun State have been charged to lead with passion and a sense of purpose in order to further enhance an enabling environment for teaching and learning in the State.

The chairman of the State Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, Abiodun Sanyaolu, gave the charge during the induction ceremony at Baptist Boys High School, Saje, Abeokuta.

Sanyaolu stated that principals, as school administrators, were instrumental in fostering a culture of academic excellence, equity, and inclusiveness.

The TESCOM boss asserted that they were regarded as partners in progress with the Commission in order to improve the standard of education in public schools.

He said: “I want to assure you that the Commission will continue to provide necessary resources, training and retraining, as well as ensure adequate welfare of the teaching and non-teaching staff.”

In their goodwill messages, the chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Olalekan Ifede; the president of the All Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, Mr Adeniyi Adekoya; and the chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Mr Noah Sewakanu, congratulated the inductees for their steadfastness in attaining the position of principal.

They urged the inductees to act professionally, embrace teamwork, and establish mutual relationships with parents and the communities of the schools to which they would be posted.

Two of the inductees, Mr Inua Olagesin and Mrs Abidemi Oniyide, expressed delight at attaining the position of principal, pledging to be diligent in carrying out their responsibilities.
