Tems joins Spotify billion club

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has received the Spotify’s Billion plaque as her collaborative hit with Future and Drake ‘Wait For U’ surpassed 1 billion streams on the platform.

She now joins Wizkid, Rema, and Tyla as the Afrobeats artists with Spotify’s Billion plaque.

‘Wait For U’ gave Tems her first Grammy plaque after winning the Best Melodic Rap category in 2023.

The song also made Tems the first African artist to debut at number 1 on Billboard Hot 100 in 2022.
