THE Flat is fully underway in Britain – but there is one more week of star-studded jumps action in Ireland.

Here, Templegate goes through the Grade 1s on day four of the Punchestown Festival, running through the big chances and revealing his tip for each contest.

THE YELLOW CLAY ran a cracker to finish less than a length behind The New Lion in the Turners’ at Cheltenham last time. He turned for home on the bridle and may not have totally enjoyed himself up the hill where he wandered off a true line. We know this trip suits and he can get back in front.

Final Demand went off favourite for that race and was a solid third, five lengths behind the tip. He made a mistake at the last, which didn’t help, and won’t be far away again. Lovely Hurling could be best of the rest taking a fair hike in class. He travelled nicely when winning at Naas last time and clearly has more to offer.

I’M still in the CONSTITUTION HILL fan club despite him hitting the deck at Cheltenham and Aintree. Nicky Henderson has schooled him over fences in the hope he’ll pick his legs up a bit more this time. Nothing against Nico De Boinville but a change of jockey to James Bowen may wake him up a bit too. We know he’ll be mighty hard to beat if getting round thanks to his awesome engine.

State Man should have won the Champion Hurdle but he had his own jumping issue at the final flight at Cheltenham. He’s won the past two runnings of this which speaks for itself. Golden Ace picked up the pieces at Prestbury Park and will do so again if her male rivals don’t get the job done. But she’s booked for a place at best if either of them get round.
