WELCOME to this weekly column by Templegate where he pinpoints horses to follow from the past week or two and takes a first look at big races to come.
Let’s give the bookies a right good kicking by getting on before they can catch on.
Raaheeb looked a monster when winning at Sandown and is short in the market for the Derby – but he is far from certain to go Credit: Getty
NOBODY KNOWS (Sandown, Fri)
THE Esher Cup was a hot handicap and the first three are worth keeping an eye on.
Nobody Knows was third, beaten less than a length after still looking green under Ryan Moore on handicap debut.
There’s more to come around a mile with winner Laureate Crown going up just 2lb for a cosy win and second home Organise also looking smart.
Laureate Crown downs the previously unbeaten Organise to make it two from two this term in the £30,000 @bet365 Esher Cup @Sandownpark

RAAHEEB (Sandown, Fri)
OWEN Burrows has a Derby contender after this impressive Classic Trial win.
The son of Sea The Stars looked very well balanced, which bodes well for Epsom, and ran hard through the line like a horse who will appreciate the Derby trip.
The big prices have gone but 9-1 looks fair after this.
TIME TO TAKE OFF (Doncaster, Sat)
JAMES Tate’s filly won on debut as a juvenile in October and has gone well on both starts this season.
She was a good second here behind Manatee Mehmas who looked classy.
The daughter of Starman will be winning handicaps over six furlongs soon.
AL AZD (Doncaster, Sat)
HE was one of the easiest winners of the weekend for Roger Varian and looks better than a Class 4 handicapper.
He travelled sweetly and can take a step forward.
A horse going places! 👀

Al Azd proves a class apart at @DoncasterRaces , passing all rivals in the straight and winning as he likes… @varianstable | @CierenFallonJr3 pic.twitter.com/Pjfdyx1YYP
TAMAM STAR (Musselburgh, Sun)
UNUSUALLY for a Karl Burke two-year-old, this Kodi Bear colt looked in need of his debut.
He still might have won but for finding all kinds of trouble in-running.
He didn’t get in the clear until the final furlong and picked up well into fourth. He’ll go close next time.
