It had originally been planned to take place on Thursday, but instead was brought forward by 24 hours.

The tournament is set to start on Friday morning and will conclude on Sunday evening.

The comments come as his team will not earn any prize money if they win the tournament.

However, will be awarded $500,000 (£395,000) each by PGA of America if they win.

But $300,000 (£237,000) will go to a charity or charities of the player’s choice.

Team Europe have failed to win on US soil in their last two attempts, with their last victory Stateside coming in 2012.

But as the reigning champions after a stunning in Rome two years ago they will be hoping to put an end to that run.
