ALL along there were some Invisible Strings tying Travis Kelce to Taylor Swift — but we might have spotted a few of them.
Ever since the NFL star and Grammy winner started dating in the summer of 2023, fans have been desperate for Kelce to pop the question as the world tuned in to their Love Story.
On Tuesday, Swift made it The Best Day for fans by revealing that Kelce, 35, proposed with a Gorgeous diamond ring, surrounded by pink and white flowers in a romantic garden .
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” Swift, 35, wrote.
The A-listers have been together for over two years — spanning three album releases and two Super Bowls — so naturally, fans of the power couple have kept an eye out for clues that pointed to their engagement throughout their relationship.
Here are some hints that suggested This Love was heading to the altar:
INFINITY RING
In January, eagle-eyed fans spotted a Bejeweled addition to Swift’s left ring finger when she was seen out to dinner in New York City.
The finger is typically reserved for engagement rings or wedding bands.
But Swift’s diamond ring had a small infinity sign on it, which might have signalled the couple’s unbreakable bond.
Kelce also recently spoke about how he wanted a love that would last forever.
‘DO IT TO LAST FOREVER’
Two weeks before the engagement was announced, Kelce opened up about his hopes for his future marriage in his GQ cover story.
“I never saw the romance of it all,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end told the outlet about his mom and dad’s relationship.
“A lot of friends I grew up with shared that. The handful of my friends whose parents are still together and still thriving — those are situations I would love to have.”
He added, “Not that I think my parents dealt with it the wrong way or anything like that.”
Kelce went on to say, “It’s more so, if we’re gonna start this and do it, why not try and do it to last forever?
“Not just in a ‘It’s just for the kids’ aspect.”
Travis Kelce 'eyed ring' before engagement
TAYLOR Swift's lover was looking at rings months before his engagement with the superstar singer was announced, according to a source who previously spoke with The U.S. Sun.
Last year, the NFL legend jetsetted to elite shops around the world in a dedicated hunt to find his girlfriend the perfect band, the insider close to his entourage said.
“It probably took more than 40 shop visits and 100 Zoom calls and meetings with jewelry experts” to find what he looked for, the source told The U.S. Sun.
He traveled to New York City, Los Angeles, France, Italy, and England throughout his search before landing at Place Vendome in the heart of Paris, the source said in August.
Once he walked into that shop, Travis reportedly found a glittering $250,000 band that was bedazzled with the “finest diamonds,” the insider said.
“He finally found the ring he is sure she will love,” the source said at the time.
The NFL star relied heavily on Swift’s close friends and his own loved ones for advice before making his final pick.
After sealing the deal, Travis couldn’t wait to get down on one knee.
“He wants the best for his lady,” the source said.
“He is ready to get engaged to her, he can’t wait.”
PODCAST ANNOUNCEMENT
During her first-ever podcast appearance on New Heights earlier this month, Swift and Kelce gushed about their relationship and shared an inside look at their private lives.
The singer spoke about baking bread with Kelce and her relationships with her future in-laws before announcing her next album, The Life of a Showgirl, which comes out in October.
Fans speculated that Swift’s decision to include Kelce in the major announcement signalled that their lives and careers were intertwining in more ways than one.

Just last month, Kelce hard-launched Swift on Instagram with a post that left Swifties poring over every detail of the glimpse into their billionaire lifestyles.
One picture included in the carousel showed Kelce and Swift posing during a night out over cocktails — and one small detail on Kelce’s lock screen sparked engagement rumors.
Kelce’s wallpaper appears to be a picture of the lovebirds posing with Swift holding up her hands, spreading out the fingers on her left hand, with a surprised look on her face.
While the picture didn’t prove anything, fans were eager for any sign that the two were settling down together.
‘MARRY, KISS, OR KILL ME’
The most obvious sign that Swift and Kelce were hearing wedding bells was in the artist’s last album, The Tortured Poets Department.
In her song So High School, Swift sings, “Are you gonna marry, kiss, or kill me? It’s just a game, but really, I’m bettin’ on all three for us two.”
The lyric might be referencing a resurfaced video of Kelce from 2016, where an interviewer asked the player to pick between Swift, Ariana Grande, and Katy Perry.
He ultimately chose to kiss Swift, kill off Grande, and marry Perry.
On Tuesday, Swift shared So High School as the song with her engagement announcement.
