The Taraba State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to merit-based promotion and continuous capacity development for officers, in line with the vision of the Force.

This assurance was given on Tuesday in Jalingo during the decoration of officers recently promoted from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP.

The State Commissioner of Police, Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin, stated that the initiative reflects the resolve of the police leadership to motivate personnel and enhance effective policing and quality service delivery to the public.

Speaking through the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Nandiyak Tissing, the commissioner congratulated the newly promoted officers, describing their elevation as a recognition of their dedication, discipline, and commitment to duty.

She emphasized that promotion comes with greater responsibility and urged the officers to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and exemplary leadership in carrying out their duties.

The commissioner noted that the promotions align with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to strengthen institutional capacity and uphold high standards within the Force.

The newly promoted officers were further encouraged to uphold the core values of the Force, respect the rule of law, and remain steadfast in protecting lives and property while maintaining peace and security across Taraba State.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, ASP Seth Edom expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for his leadership and commitment to officers’ welfare.

He also commended the Police Service Commission for approving the promotions and assured that the officers would justify the confidence placed in them through renewed dedication, professionalism, and loyalty to duty.
