Nigeria defender, Zaidu Sanusi has signed a new two-year contract at Portuguese club, FC Porto.
The left-back linked up with the Dragons from another Portuguese club, Santa Clara in 2020 and has established himself as a key member of the side.
Sanusi scored the crucial goal that earned FC Porto their 30th league title last season.
The 25-year-old was linked with a move away from the club this summer but Porto’s hefty price tag scared away potential suitors.
“I am very happy to have renewed my contract with FC Porto until 2027. It is very important for me,” Sanusi told the club’s official website.
The defender was on target as Porto defeated Bundesliga club, Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 to record their first win in the UEFA Champions League this season on Tuesday.
Sanusi reflected on the strike and its importance.
“It was a very important goal for me, for the club, for the president and it made me very happy. I am even more fulfilled for having renewed today.
“I hope to score many more goals and celebrate even more victories here,” he said.
