Former Super Eagles midfielder and coach Sunday Oliseh has agreed with ex-England star Rio Ferdinand’s call for Liverpool fans to appreciate Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contributions to the Reds.
This comes after backlash from supporters over the England international’s decision to leave the club.
Alexander-Arnold, 26, is a product of Liverpool’s academy but has reportedly agreed to join LaLiga giants Real Madrid on a free transfer-a move few players would turn down.
His impending departure has divided opinion among Reds fans, with Ferdinand-a former Manchester United defender-weighing in on the debate.
Speaking on his show Rio Presents, he urged Liverpool supporters to celebrate Alexander-Arnold’s achievements rather than begrudge his exit.
“You should be saying thank you and good luck,”; Ferdinand said.
Oliseh, a former Nigeria international, echoed Ferdinand’s view on social media, stressing the importance of gratitude.
“As is often the case, Rio nails it again on the Trent Alexander-Arnold departure rants. The man served you, decides to leave, and you should wish him well!”; Oliseh posted on X (formerly Twitter).
The LaLiga champions and the player are said to be confident of finalising the deal this summer, bringing an end to the right-back’s era at Anfield.
