Emaka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has addressed Nollywood veterans who are aware of Regina Daniels' alleged substance abuse.
The AGN President shared this information in a statement posted on his Instagram account, aiming to clarify what he described as “numerous allegations, misconceptions, and unwarranted accusations.”
Rollas noted that Senator Ned Nwoko serves as the AGN’s Chairman of the Board of Patrons, and that actress Regina Daniels and her mother, Rita Daniels, are members. He mentioned that many individuals have been tagging him to respond to the ongoing dispute involving them.
In his explanation, he stated, “I owe it to myself, to the Guild, and to the public to speak the truth clearly and responsibly.” He named Jide Kosoko, Sanni Danji, Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, and Chinyere Wilfred as those who have reportedly witnessed Regina Daniels allegedly abusing substances at film locations.
Questioning their silence, Emaka Rollas expressed that they all understood Regina needed assistance.
“For years, the Board of Trustees has permitted me to take the lead in battles while they safeguard their reputations from behind. Many senior colleagues are aware of the truth surrounding recent events, yet they have chosen to remain silent.
“I am urging those who were present during the last series shoot and are fully aware of the situation—Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, Chinyere Wilfred, Jide Kosoko, and Sanni Danji. You were all on set during the last production in question. You witnessed events firsthand concerning Regina, and we all know she requires help. Your silence is unjust and exposes me to criticism for issues I did not create.
“While we were organizing our roundtable meeting in South Africa, Senator Nwoko contacted me and stipulated that he would only permit Regina to travel if I assured him she wouldn’t pass through Lagos. This is a fact, and I mention it because it has been distorted against me repeatedly.”
