Students levied as Adamawa State Polytechnic reopens

Published on May 14, 2025 at 03:45 PM

The Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola, shut down last month after a protest by the students, is to resume full academic activities on Monday, 19th May, 2025.

Complaints against blackout and water shortage culminated in a street demonstration by students on April 28, 2025, leading to a shut down of the polytechnic by the management.

The management, resolving for reopening on Monday, has imposed N3,000 levy on each student as condition for readmission into the polytechnic.

The decision is contained in a circular signed by the Acting Registrar of the Polytechnic, Mr Simawa Ayuba

Ayuba asked that the N3,000 levy must be accompanied with evidence of payment for registration fees for the first semester as well as signing of undertaking to be of good behavior.
