During the evening, the judges called for Tess to come up to them and sit beside Claudia.
“What’s going on?” Claudia asked as Tess made her way up the stairs.
Once they were seated together, they said: “We just wanted to tell you both how much we are going to miss you.
“We want you to know how much we love you dearly.
“We have been working together on the show for 21 years, looking fabulous.
“And we have a little surprise for you – a special video, darling.”
The montage featured various moments from the show over the years, as the judges praised the TV hosts.
Showing a clip of Tess, Shirley remarked: “She has been doing this since 2004 while raising an incredible family.”
Craig shared his thoughts on how fun and quirky Claudia was on the spin-off show It Takes Two.

While another judge noted: “Neither of them has learned a dance step.”
Strictly professional Kai Waddington then presented the beloved duo with a

“You all feel like family to us; we have had the most amazing time,” said a tearful Tess.
Viewers were also left emotional, with one fan writing: “It just hit me that this is the end.”
Another added: “Lock the doors!!! Don’t let them leave!”
“Our last results show with Tess and Claudia,” said a third, including a crying emoji.
While a fourth exclaimed: “This is the last dance-off of the series, which means it’s Tess & Claudia’s final dance-off as hosts. End of an era.”
“This is making me emotional; #strictly won’t be the same next year without Tess and Claudia. I will miss this partnership so much.
However, this isn't the last we will see of the Strictly hosts – as they will reunite during the Christmas Day special — their final appearance on the show.
They will join the professional dancers for a routine as they bid farewell after co-hosting the main show for the past 11 years.
