STRICTLY’S cast and crew fear the show could be sold off, sparking huge job cuts.

The BBC plans to put all of its shows up for tender by next year — and a new production company could slash costs.

Bosses are already under pressure to make the next series a success, after the loss of presenters .

But a BBC source said the new presenting line-up — , and — has not gone down well with die-hard Strictly fans.

He said: “There is a lot of pressure on the next series.

“Not only the new line-up.

“There’s also the not so small matter of it going up for tender next year.

“We’ve seen what happened with Doctor Who and there are fears the same could happen to Strictly.”

Show bosses have broken with tradition by announcing some star contestants far earlier than usual.

The source added: “It all feels a bit desperate.

“Quite a few people are panicking over the show’s future.”
