FURIOUS Steve Clarke stormed out of his post-match interview with the BBC following Scotland’s crushing defeat to Brazil.

Emotions ran high in Miami after a bruising 3-0 loss left Scotland’s World Cup qualification hopes hanging by a thread.

And Clarke, 62, clearly had no interest in speaking post-match when quizzed on Scotland‘s dwindling chances of reaching the last 32.

The Scotland boss gave two blunt, frosty responses to the opening questions before deciding enough was enough.

Clarke was first asked how difficult the bruising encounter had been for himself and his players.

He snapped: “We made it difficult for ourselves, that’s it.”

When pressed on whether Scotland had played directly into Brazil‘s hands with costly mistakes throughout the game, he grunted: “We gave them the goals, we gave them the game they wanted. disappointing.”

The breaking point came when the interviewer asked about Scotland’s lingering chances of progressing and the complex permutations in the other World Cup groups.

Refusing to engage, Clarke abruptly cut the interview short and walked out on live TV, tossing back a brief apology as he made a swift exit.

As he walked off, Clarke said: “Sorry, I don’t even want to think about that.”

Scotland now face an agonising wait to find out if they will scrape through as one of the best third-placed teams.

As it stands, the national side finds themselves in a perilous position following back-to-back defeats to Morocco and Brazil.

While an opening-day victory against Haiti keeps them alive on three points, the costly 3-0 capitulation in Miami leaves their tournament survival balanced firmly on a knife-edge.

A narrow one or two-goal defeat to Carlo Ancelotti‘s side would have kept us in a strong position to qualify for the knockout rounds.

Instead, the Tartan Army must wait to discover their fate — and whether Scotland can finally make history by escaping the group stage for the very first time.
