On the next episode of “Heavenly Ever After,”;; Lee Jung Eun will be unexpectedly reunited with her abusive father.
“Heavenly Ever After”;; is a transcendent romance drama starring Kim Hye Ja as Lee Hae Sook, a woman who reunites with her husband in heaven after death. Unlike the other residents of heaven—including her husband Go Nak Joon (Son Suk Ku), who has chosen to return to the 30-something version of himself—Lee Hae Sook makes the unusual choice to keep her 80-year-old appearance.

In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming episode, Lee Young Ae (Lee Jung Eun)’s father arrives in heaven, leading to an uncomfortable reunion with his estranged daughter. During her childhood, Lee Young Ae’s irresponsible father abused and neglected her, and she was eventually taken in by Lee Hae Sook and Go Nak Joon instead.
Because Young Ae never wanted to see—or even think about—her father ever again, she is clearly struggling with meeting him again in the afterlife. As Young Ae’s old emotional wounds from her childhood visibly resurface, both Hae Sook and Nak Joon seem unwilling to let her father inside their home.
Above all else, the new stills raise the question of why Young Ae’s abusive father has come to heaven instead of hell. The final set of photos captures Young Ae and her father both looking sad as they meet with the director of the Heaven Support Center (Chun Ho Jin), who faces them with a serious expression.
