The Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmad Aliyu, has officially sworn in Musa Garba Kuchi as the chairman of Kebbe Local Government Area, following the passing of the elected chairman, Abdullahi Yarima.

Kuchi has been appointed to fulfill the remaining term of the late chairman, who passed away just a few months after being elected.

During the ceremony held in Sokoto, the governor urged the new council chairman to reside within the local government area and collaborate closely with security agencies, emphasizing that Kebbe is one of the regions facing significant security challenges.

Governor Aliyu also swore in the State Head of Civil Service, Abdulkadir Ahmed Mohamed, along with five Special Advisers and 12 Permanent Secretaries.

He tasked the new Head of Service with enforcing discipline and enhancing efficiency within the state civil service, highlighting the importance of punctuality, dedication, and adherence to professional ethics.

The governor called for a clear collaborative relationship between Special Advisers and Permanent Secretaries, explaining that while advisers provide political guidance, Permanent Secretaries are tasked with administrative responsibilities within their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.

Aliyu cautioned the appointees to ensure accountability and maintain proper record-keeping, adding that any mismanagement of public resources would be unacceptable.

He also encouraged civil servants to remain dedicated to their responsibilities as the government continues to work on addressing salary, pension, and gratuity obligations.

Those sworn in as Special Advisers include Umar Babuga Oro, Faruku Labbo, Zainab Umar Dasuki, Kamaludden Abubakar, and Lemi Bashir.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are Isma’ila Ibrahim, Aliyu Ladan Isa, Aminu Bello, Abubakar Alhaji Ni’ima Hassan, Almustafa Sayudi, Aminu Abubakar Rijiya, Lema Sambo Wali, Kabiru Garba, Abubakar Moh’d Bello, Kabiru Labaran, and Sanusi Aliyu Binji.
