Nigerian singer and producer, Emoseh Khamofu, professionally known as Bloody Civilian, has revealed her biggest career regret.
The multi-talented music star said she regrets not leveraging on TikTok at the beginning of her career.

She blamed her “too cool”; personality for her missing out on the short-video streaming platform’s virality earlier in her career.

“My biggest regret was being too cool for TikTok at the beginning of my career. God punish steeze,”; she wrote on her X page.

In recent years, TikTok has proven to be one of the most potent means of digital music promotion.

The earliest example of the platform’s vitality in music promotion in Nigeria was CKay’s 2019 sleeper hit ‘Love Nwantiti’, which TikTok gave a new life in 2021 after creators began dancing to it.

The TikTok trend significantly impacted the song’s streams on platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube and others.

Recently, Skales 2015 ‘Shake Body’ resurfaced on trend tables and music streaming platforms after a video of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal dancing to it went viral on TikTok.

Rising Nigerian music star, Chella’s success has been greatly attributed to TikTok, with his songs like ‘My Darling’, ‘Nyash Na Nyash’ and ‘Iweriwe Love’, racking millions of views on the platform.
