Tragedy after shopper in his 60s dies outside Spar store as tributes pour in for ‘lovely man’

TRIBUTES have poured in for a “lovely” man who died after suffering a cardiac arrest at a Spar in front of shoppers.

Paramedics and rushed to the store in Euxton yesterday evening following a report that a man had been found unresponsive.

When they arrived on scene they discovered the man in his 60s who had suffered a cardiac arrest.

Despite medics fighting to save the man’s life he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

A cordon was put in place and the row of shops was taped off after the incident.

The man has since been named locally by Lancashire Live as Paul Cadman with tributes pouring in for the “lovely man” on .

After the tragic incident locals reported seeing a massive emergency services presence in the area.

A number of police remained on the taped off scene, blocking access to the shops.

The Spar was closed and remained shut today after the tragedy.

Locals have shared fond memories with Paul as dozens of emotional tributes were made on social media.

Diane Taylor said: “So sorry to read this, my condolences to Paul’s family.”

Sue Jones commented: “So very sad, he was a lovely man. RIP little Paul.”

Nicola Singleton replied: “RIP Paul, such a lovely man.”

Chantelle McBurney wrote: “Very sad. RIP Paul. Condolences to your family.”

Police said that Paul’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

The man’s family have been informed and a report is being prepared for HM coroner.

Police said: “We were called at 7.30pm yesterday (September 21) by the Ambulance Service to Runshaw Lane, Euxton, to a report a man had been found unresponsive.

“The man, aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital but despite the best efforts of medical personnel, was very sadly pronounced deceased.

“Our thoughts are with his family at this distressing time.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared in due course for HM Coroner.”
