Vice President Kashim Shettima has paid a visit to Aisha Buhari, the widow of late former President Muhammadu Buhari, in London.
The Vice President, who led a Nigerian Government delegation to bring back Buhari’s remains, also met the late President’s children.
Images of Shettima’s visit to the former first family circulating on social media show the VP and Buhari’s wife and children in a mourning mood.
DAILY POST reports that Buhari died while receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness in London, United Kingdom, on Sunday.
Buhari served as military Head of State, and later as a democratically elected Nigerian President.
During the time he was President, Buhari spent at least 225 days away from Nigeria on medical trips.
His longest was in May 2017 when spent 104 days in London.
Shettima and other members of the Federal Government delegation in London are expected to return to Nigeria with the remains of the former President on Tuesday.
Buhari’s burial has also been scheduled for Tuesday, in Daura, his hometown in Katsina State.
