Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Lagos State to attend the 2025 Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference.

The Vice President was welcomed on Monday by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other senior government officials.

Governor Sanwo-Olu was subsequently greeted at the conference venue by high-ranking military commanders.

Also present was the Minister of Defence, retired General Christopher Musa, who interacted with fellow service chiefs at the event.

Confirming the Vice President’s attendance, Stanley Nkwocha, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), announced on X that Shettima is representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Special Guest of Honour.

Nkwocha mentioned that upon arriving at the conference venue, the Vice President inspected a military guard of honour, adhering to established armed forces protocols for distinguished guests.

The annual conference, themed ‘Examining the Current Landscape of Terrorism Through the Lenses of Diplomatic and Military Action Strategy for Long-term Prevention and Stabilisation’, aims to create comprehensive strategies for tackling security challenges through coordinated diplomatic and military efforts.

The program will also include the presentation of a book titled ‘A Life of Service’, dedicated to the 23rd Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.
