Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani has condemned the killing of an innocent boy by security operatives in Kaduna State.

DAILY POST recalls that security operatives who were in Barnawa community searching for illicit drug dealers opened fire on the 16 years old boy, identified as Abubakar, killing him instantly.

Youths in the community had protested the killing, calling on the state government to arrest the security agent and make him face the full consequences of his actions

Sani condemned the killing when he paid a condolence visit to the father of the deceased, Abubakar, in Barnawa, Kaduna South Local Government Area.

He described the killing as an indefensible and barbaric act that violates every principle of human rights and the sanctity of life.

The former lawmaker called on the state government, Nigerian Police Force and National Human Rights Commission to urgently investigate the matter and prosecute the killer.

He said “This was somebody’s child, not a statistic. Justice for Abubakar is justice for every Nigerian who believes in the rule of law.”

Earlier the grieving father of the deceased, Abubakar, who recounted the ordeal said the operatives stormed the community, prompting residents to scatter in fear.

According to him, he advised his son not to run, believing there was nothing to fear. Moments later, an operative allegedly grabbed Abubakar from behind, drew a pistol, pressed it to his head, and fired, killing him instantly.

“This was not an accident; it was an execution,” the father said, calling for those responsible to face the full weight of the law.
