Victor Osimhen made history as the highest-scoring Nigerian in Serie A after hitting the net in Napoli’s 2-1 victory against Atalanta on Saturday night.
Osimhen tied with former Crotone forward, Simy Nwankwo on 31 goals after netting a hat-trick in Napoli’s 4-1 win against Sassuolo last weekend.
The 23-year-old moved ahead of Simy Nwankwo to 32 goals after his first-half strike at the Gewiss Stadium.
The forward conceded a penalty which was converted by his compatriot, Ademola Lookman on nine minutes.
However, Osimhen quickly made up for his mistake by drawing Napoli level, as he was allowed a free header on a Piotr Zielinskin floated cross from a corner.
