Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will face trial for his alleged involvement in the fraudulent accounting related to Victor Osimhen’s transfer to the club in 2020.
The reported amount for Osimhen’s transfer from Ligue 1 club Lille to Napoli five years ago was claimed to have been exaggerated, according to Tuttosport.
The transfer of the Nigerian international included goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis and three Primavera players: Manzi, Palmieri, and Liguori.
Prosecutors allege that the valuations of these three players were artificially inflated to enhance Napoli’s financial standing.
Also facing trial are his long-time associate Andrea Chiavelli and the club itself.
The trial is set to commence on 2 December 2026.
