SERENA Williams was reportedly among a host of stars forced out of their Berlin hotel in the middle of the night following a shock fire alarm.

The icon, who is preparing for her comeback, had to leave the building at around 3am alongside her two children Olympia and Adira.

A number of big names staying at the hotel were also caught up in the early-hours drama, the Daily Express reports .

Fellow tennis stars , Alex Eala and Eva Lys were among those who had to head outside while the alarm was investigated.

And music superstar , who was in the city while on tour, was also reportedly among those evacuated.

had been competing at the Berlin Tennis Open after making her return to the sport.

But her doubles campaign alongside Karolina Muchova ended in the opening round after defeat to Erin Routliffe and Giuliana Olmos.

The 23-time Grand Slam singles champion is now preparing for a return to Wimbledon after receiving a doubles wildcard with sister Venus.

Williams’ coach Rennae Stubbs opened up on the hotel scare on The Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast, as reported by the Daily Express.

Stubbs revealed she initially stayed in her room when the alarm sounded after experiencing a similar situation the week before.

She explained she eventually got ready and made her way down several flights of stairs before joining everyone outside.

Stubbs even revealed that Williams was with her children: “Everyone was standing out there. Not only were Serena and her two kids [there].

“Can you imagine waking up your two-year-old in the middle of the night at 3-4 in the morning?”

The former doubles world No1 also praised Williams for staying calm while dealing with the unexpected wake-up call.

The group were left waiting outside before eventually being allowed back into the hotel.
