KBS2’s upcoming drama “The First Night With the Duke”;; has unveiled the first stills of Seohyun’s character!
“The First Night With the Duke”;; is a romance fantasy that tells the story of an ordinary college student whose soul becomes transferred into a minor character of a romance novel and spends the night with the obsessive male lead.
In the drama, Seohyun plays Cha Sun Chaek, a supporting character in a Joseon era romance novel who possesses both high social status and wealth. Living without much presence as a minor character in the novel, Cha Sun Chaek’s life takes a dramatic turn when the soul of K, a passionate reader and a real-life female college student, suddenly inhabits her body, transforming her into a completely different person.
Initially, K is content to observe the main characters’ stories from up close in Cha Sun Chaek’s body. However, she soon becomes entangled in unexpected events and gradually finds herself becoming a central figure in the novel. All eyes are on whether K, now living as Cha Sun Chaek, will be able to restore the novel’s storyline to its original path after it goes off course.

K is seen wearing glasses and a hoodie, reading a web novel with an expressionless face that perfectly reflects the monotony of her repetitive daily life.
In contrast, Cha Sun Chaek’s face—now inhabited by K’s soul—bears an intriguing smile, raising anticipation for her journey as she steps up from a minor character to the protagonist.
Regarding her decision to take on the role, Seohyun shared, “I was drawn to the storylines between the characters, which are both comedic and suspenseful, as well as the charm of a character who is lovable and, at times, even eccentric.”;;
“The First Night with the Duke”;; is set to premiere on June 11 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
